The prostitute Young-ja meets Chang-su, who works at a sauna, and falls in love with him. One day, Young-ja is surprised to find out that her ex-husband Dong-hyuk has been released from jail. Young-ja confesses to Chang-su her past with Dong-hyuk. Chang-su asks her to marry him and go far away together. When Young-ja hesitates, Chang-su meets up with Dong-hyuk at a bar and stabs him. He runs away with Young-ja to a fishing village on the east coast. At the urgings of Captain Song and his wife, the two get married and live happily until Dong-hyuk shows up, very much alive. Chang-su and Dong-hyuk fight on a sand bar. Young-ja holds the fallen Chang-su sobbing sadly. Seeing this, Dong-hyuk finally repents his actions. Wishing Young-ja happiness, Dong-hyuk leaves.
