The usual business trip of businessman Maxim and journalist Liza is interrupted by a sudden attack of thugs. Bandits seize Maxim and Lisa and demand ransom for them. Negotiations are going well, but at some point the deal breaks down, and with it the prisoners last hope for a quick return home. They are sitting in the basement of a house lost in the mountains; it is almost impossible to find a way home by yourself. Maxim and Lisa hope only for their strength and destiny. His 12-year-old son Ahmed, who has long been sympathetic to prisoners and is ready to help them, becomes the Achilles' heel of the militant Marat. Ahmed and Marat flee to the mountains to return to the freedom of Ahmed, Marat let them go home.
