Ji, an officer in the North Korean army during the war, is given charge over a POW camp. There he meets his brother, a prisoner. He tries to convince his brother to accept the communist ideology in order to save his life, but his brother refuses. A high-ranking officer, visiting the camp notices the influence the POW has on Ji, and he orders the prisoner killed. Ji obeys the command, but it serves to fuel his own growing skepticism about communism
