Alain Delon was in the French Riviera when he found out that Jean-Pierre Melville was dying. He drove all night to get to Paris to be at his maestro’s side. In this documentary, it is as if we are sitting in that car beside Delon, and with him we contemplate the relationship between director and interpreter, between the exemplary actor of Melville’s characters, resigned to their fatal destinies but at the same time proud and loyal, and the maestro who, at the end of his artistic path, found the ideal actor in Delon.
